Join Portland Trails and TEMPOart for Creative Paths: Back Cove Birding!
Start your day with a birding excursion on the Back Cove Trail led by Doug Hitchcox, a naturalist at the Maine Audubon. On our low-tide walk around the tidal cove, we'll look for the dozens of bird species that call this ecosystem their home.
If you have binoculars, bring them! This event is rain or shine, so dress for the weather. We'll meet at the "Dancing for Joy" sculpture of two intertwined egrets beside the Back Cove parking lot.
Thank you to our partners at the Maine Audubon for making this event possible! The Maine Audubon takes a comprehensive approach to helping the people of Maine become more informed and effective stewards of wildlife and habitat. You can learn more about their work and programs at www.maineaudubon.org.
This is the first event of our Creative Paths series exploring the connections between our creative selves and the natural world. Each event will have its own unique flavor and will be led by local experts. Discover Portland's extensive trail network and celebrate TEMPOart's 2025 installation of "Winged Kelp"!
