Creative Paths: Bittersweet Baskets

Print

Learn how to make a basket using locally harvested bittersweet! Take this invasive plant and turn it into something useful – and beautiful. Local artist Kimberley Harding will lead this hands-on workshop. Kimberley's art installation, The Art of Looking, will be on display on the PATHS Trail during this event. Come early or stay late to check it out!

All supplies will be provided. If you'd like to help collect bittersweet on Tues., August 25th before the event, you can sign up here.

Kimberley Harding creates sculptural works using basketry and other fiber techniques. A resident of Portland, Maine, Harding has exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the U.S. as well as online. Nature, environmentalism, personal experience, and social issues are the sources for her work.

This is the first event of our Creative Paths series exploring the connections between our creative selves and the natural world. Each event will have its own unique flavor and will be led by local experts.
